My name is Sasha Riabyi. I am 41 years old, and I have been involved in humanitarian projects across Ukraine for many years. I trained as an international lawyer and interpreter and also studied preaching and pastoral ministry.
 
-What is your role at Novi?
 
I am the country director, and I enjoy participating in all our events with many of our partners, such as children’s camps, unloading humanitarian aid, conducting art therapy, and visiting clubs for teenagers in Novi.
 
-What are you passionate about?
 
I really enjoy seeing how children, teenagers, and adults find a way out of difficult life situations. I hope to be one of those through whom changes come into their lives.
 
-What is your favorite Bible verse?
 
Isaiah 1:17 – “Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the fatherless's cause; plead the widow's case.”
 
-A good book you would recommend?
 
“The Other Side of the Wall” by Gary Miller – Explores the dangers of materialism and encourages believers to seek a life of deeper purpose and faithfulness to God.
 
-Something that happened recently that changed you?
 
An unjust war that brought darkness to our lives and revealed the kindness of others during this dark period changed me, my life, and my view of what truly matters.
 
-What is your hope for Ukraine?
 
After the war, I hope we can become a stronger nation and use our experiences to help people worldwide.
 
-What is the best thing about working for Novi?
 
The best part is the people we work alongside, not only in the office but also our incredible volunteers and partners, who truly make a difference in the lives of children and families across Ukraine.
